How justxor/linuxfullroadmap works
Purpose and entry points
This is a Russian-language, hands-on Linux administration curriculum, not an application repository. The primary entry point is README.md, which structures theory, terminal practice, server administration, security, and advanced infrastructure topics. The executable companion entry point is secure-server-setup.sh, referenced as an automation template for hardening a test server. package.js is present but its role cannot be established from the supplied material.
Learning architecture
README.md is organized as a progression from environment setup and shell fundamentals through filesystem, processes, services, networking, automation, and server security. Each stage combines explanation, commands, and a manual lab task; learners are expected to work in a VM, WSL2, dual boot, or VPS rather than consume the document passively.
Linux systems model
The foundational theory in README.md establishes the operating boundaries used throughout the course:
• user space versus kernel space and system-call interfaces;
• process lifecycle, scheduling, memory, swap, and OOM behavior;
• filesystem/inode semantics, permissions, mounts, boot chain, and systemd;
• shell parsing, environment variables, PATH, exit statuses, pipes, and redirection.
This conceptual layer precedes and supports operational exercises.
Host administration workflow
The practical core in README.md teaches a repeatable host-management loop: inspect system state; install software through distro package managers; edit text configuration; manage ownership and permissions; control processes and systemd services; inspect journal and file logs; diagnose disk, memory, and network conditions. Primary operational boundaries are OS-level configuration under /etc, service lifecycle through systemctl, and observability through journalctl, /var/log, /proc, and networking tools.
Remote access and security hardening
Security is an architecturally central track. README.md specifies SSH key-based access, non-root administration via sudo, firewall default-deny rules with UFW, automated security updates, fail2ban, port exposure review, and backup discipline. secure-server-setup.sh consolidates this into a configurable script that updates a Debian/Ubuntu-style host, provisions a sudo user and SSH key, hardens SSH, configures UFW, and enables fail2ban. It is explicitly intended for VM rehearsal because changing SSH/firewall policy can sever remote access.
Automation and service delivery
README.md moves from shell scripts, cron, and systemd timers to reproducible infrastructure practices: Ansible playbooks, idempotency, configuration-as-code, systemd resource limits/cgroups, and backup automation. Nginx is the recurring example service for deployment, config validation, service control, logging, and firewall exposure.
Infrastructure and external ecosystem
The material targets Linux distributions including Debian/Ubuntu (apt), Fedora/RHEL (dnf), and Arch (pacman), with systemd as the assumed init/service runtime. Suggested execution platforms include VirtualBox, VMware, WSL2, VPS providers, KVM/QEMU/libvirt, and isolated Kali/Metasploitable labs. Advanced tracks cover Docker/Podman, Kubernetes via minikube or kind, Prometheus/Grafana/Alertmanager, WireGuard/nftables, LVM/RAID, and Ansible over SSH. External learning/security services include TryHackMe, Hack The Box, VulnHub, HackerOne, Bugcrowd, and GitHub source repositories.
