How johnson-phillips/foodapp works
Purpose and Runtime
This is a client-side React single-page site, scaffolded and served by Vite. The repository appears to implement a food-truck-oriented marketing/information experience, with pages for home, menu, contact, and truck location. No backend, API integration, database, authentication, or external service configuration is present in the tree.
Application Bootstrap
Vite loads the HTML shell and mounts React into it:
• index.html
• src/main.jsx
• src/App.jsx
src/main.jsx is the browser entry point. src/App.jsx is the likely composition root that selects or renders the application’s page-level content and shared layout.
Page-Level Content
The primary feature boundaries are page components under src/Pages:
• src/Pages/Home.jsx
• src/Pages/Menu.jsx
• src/Pages/Contact.jsx
• src/Pages/TruckLocator.jsx
These represent the main user-facing information flows: discover the business, view offerings, contact it, and find its physical truck. Based on the available files, navigation/routing may be managed directly in React rather than through a dedicated router library; no router-specific source file is visible.
Shared Presentation Shell
Reusable site-wide UI is isolated in src/Components:
• src/Components/Navbar.jsx
• src/Components/Footer.jsx
• src/Components/Carousal.jsx
The navbar and footer likely establish persistent layout and cross-page navigation. The carousel is a reusable home or promotional-content module. These components should remain presentation-oriented, with page composition controlled from src/App.jsx or page modules.
Styling and Static Assets
Visual styling is split between global, application, and utility-framework layers:
• src/index.css
• src/App.css
• src/assets
Tailwind is configured through tailwind.config.js, with PostCSS processing configured in postcss.config.js. Assets are bundled from src/assets; public is available for static files served without Vite’s import pipeline.
Build and Development Boundary
Vite is the development server and production bundler:
• vite.config.js
• package.json
• index.html
React Fast Refresh/HMR is supplied by the configured Vite React plugin described in the README. The browser bundle is the deployment artifact; there is no server runtime in this repository.
Primary Control Flow
The expected render flow is: Vite serves index.html → src/main.jsx mounts React → src/App.jsx builds the shared shell → navbar/page/carousel/footer components render → CSS, Tailwind output, and assets provide presentation. User interaction is therefore contained in the browser, with navigation and page state expected to stay local unless future API or routing infrastructure is added.
