How himan243/jarvis works
Purpose and Entry Point
This is a small standalone Python desktop voice assistant. Its apparent primary entry point is Assistant.py; there is no package structure, service layer, web frontend, or README-defined deployment workflow.
Assistant Control Loop
Assistant.py likely owns the end-to-end interaction loop: accepting user input, interpreting commands, dispatching actions, and producing spoken or audible feedback. This file is the architectural center and likely contains both orchestration and command implementations due to the repository’s flat layout.
Voice and Audio Boundary
The assistant uses local audio assets for time-based notifications or interaction feedback:
• alarm_sound.mp3
• timer_end.mp3
These files form a local media boundary: command handling can trigger playback without requiring a remote notification service. Their presence suggests alarm and timer capabilities are first-class assistant actions.
Dependencies and Runtime
The runtime is Python, with third-party dependencies declared in requirement.txt. Dependency installation is therefore the primary environment setup boundary. No container, infrastructure-as-code, database schema, or hosted-service configuration is present in the repository tree.
Primary Flow
The expected control flow is:
1. Start the assistant through Assistant.py.
2. Receive a user request, likely through voice and/or terminal interaction.
3. Match the request to an assistant capability.
4. Execute a local action or invoke a dependency-backed integration.
5. Return feedback through speech, console output, or the bundled MP3 sounds.
The command-dispatch and external-integration boundary is concentrated in Assistant.py, while local alert completion is represented by alarm_sound.mp3 and timer_end.mp3.
Repository Shape and Constraints
The project is intentionally monolithic and asset-backed:
• Application/orchestration: Assistant.py
• Python dependency contract: requirement.txt
• Local notification media: alarm_sound.mp3, timer_end.mp3
There are no visible modules separating speech recognition, intent routing, scheduling, or integrations. Any engineer extending the system should first split responsibilities out of Assistant.py if adding substantial new command families, persistent state, concurrent timers, or external-service adapters.
