How abjincy-dot/docman-v2 works
Purpose and Runtime
DOCMAN-V2 is a small client-side web application/PWA. The repository contains no backend, server code, package manifest, or build pipeline; it is intended to run directly in a browser from static files.
Primary entry points:
• index.html defines the document shell and loads application assets.
• app.js contains the application behavior.
• style.css provides the UI presentation layer.
Browser Application Shell
index.html is the browser-facing bootstrap boundary. It connects the HTML structure to:
• Application logic in app.js
• Styling in style.css
• PWA metadata in manifest.json
The browser loads this shell first; JavaScript then owns interactive behavior against the DOM established there.
Application Logic
app.js is the central control layer for DOCMAN-V2. It is the likely location for user-event handling, document-management state, DOM updates, and browser API integration.
Boundary: application behavior is fully client-side. Any persistence, document selection, import/export, or file handling implemented here would occur through browser capabilities rather than a repository-provided service layer.
Presentation and Static Assets
style.css separates visual layout and component styling from application behavior in app.js. Images/ and icons/ provide static visual resources consumed by the UI and installable-app surfaces.
Key paths:
• style.css
• Images
• icons
Progressive Web App Layer
manifest.json defines installability metadata such as application identity, icons, display mode, and launch behavior. sw.js is the service-worker entry point and establishes the offline/cache boundary.
Control flow:
1. The page loads through index.html.
2. Client code in app.js can register sw.js.
3. The service worker intercepts relevant browser resource requests.
4. Cached static assets enable repeat/offline use according to the worker’s cache policy.
Key paths:
• manifest.json
• sw.js
• icons
Infrastructure Boundaries
The deployment model is static hosting: serve the repository’s browser assets over HTTP(S), preferably HTTPS for service-worker and PWA capabilities. There are no visible database, API, authentication, queue, container, or cloud-infrastructure components.
The major external runtime is the browser, including DOM APIs, Cache Storage/service workers, the Web App Manifest platform, and potentially browser file APIs used by app.js.
Components 12
Static application
Files served directly by static hosting.
- Document shell · Initial page structure and asset bootstrap.
index.html - Application logic · Owns interaction, document state, and DOM updates.
app.js - Presentation · UI layout and component styling.
style.css - UI images
Images - App icons · Visual resources for UI and installable-app surfaces.
icons
PWA runtime
Browser installability and offline facilities.
- Web app manifest · Defines identity, display, icons, and launch behavior.
manifest.json - Service worker · Intercepts relevant resource requests.
sw.js - Cache Storage · Stores static assets according to worker cache policy.
Other components
- Static hosting · Serves browser assets over HTTP(S).
- Browser · Executes the client application and web-platform APIs.
- DOM APIs · The application updates the page structure established by the shell.
- Browser file APIs · Potential client-side document selection, import, and export boundary.
